Pebbles + Crossroad

One pebble,
Two pebbles,
And three as i followed.
I was all the while keeping my head down,
Focusing and searching for the next pebble to appear.

Although small and might seem insignificant to others,
I knew it was the hidden force tat guided me along all these while.

Fourth pebble,
Fifth pebble,
I counted till the 19th pebble,
And lifted up my head in dismay.

I was standing at a crossroad.

No pebbles,
No voices,
No signs,
Not even the slightest clue.

I waited and waited,
I prayed and prayed,
I wished and wished,
But i wasn't being answered.

Until now,
All i do is stand and wait.
From day to night,
From winter to summer,
Hoping from the depths of my heart,
The appearence of the clue to the next part of my journey.
